I want to see turquoise lakes; when do the lakes thaw?
Lake Louise and Moraine Lake typically thaw in June. For the iconic blue-green water, the best time to visit is from late June to early September, though the lakes are stunning year-round.
When is the road to Moraine Lake closed?
The access road to Moraine Lake is closed from the Tuesday after Canadian Thanksgiving until the last day in May due to avalanche risk. During this period, we still offer this tour and transfer service spending extra time on the Bow Valley Parkway and at Lake Louise.
Can I drive to Lake Louise and Moraine Lake instead of taking the tour?
Going carless is the best way. You will get door to door service on our tour and transfer and avoid the stress of congested driving and uncertain parking. Parking at Lake Louise lakeshore is extremely limited and often full by sunrise. Mandatory paid parking is in effect at Lake Louise Lakeshore from mid-May to mid-October between 7 AM and 7 PM. This tour guarantees access to both lakes without the driving or parking hassles, making it ideal for a stress-free transfer and sightseeing experience.
Is there a lot of walking involved?
The tour includes time at each lake (Lake Louise and Moraine Lake) with opportunities to get off the bus and stretch your legs. Viewpoints are a short walk from the bus. The optional Rockpile trail at Moraine Lake is an easy walk of less than 500 meters, offering stunning views. Both lakes also have flat, easy shoreline trails.
Will I see wildlife on the tour?
While there’s a chance to spot wildlife, such as bears or elk, along the route, we cannot guarantee sightings. Our guides are knowledgeable about the park’s wildlife and will share insights if animals are spotted or if you have questions.
What is the cancellation policy?
We require 24 hours’ notice prior to departure to change, cancel, or refund a tour without penalty. Group bookings of 9 or more guests, as well as custom or private bookings, have a 7-day cancellation period.
Should I tip my guide?
